Frequently Asked Questions: ???
Is the library catalog
available off-campus or anywhere there is a connection to the internet?
Yes, connect to the library homepage at
www.paloverde.edu/library and
click on the "Find a Book, Video,
DVD" link.
Can I search for videos and DVD's in the library's online catalog?
Certainly. Just go to
www.paloverde.edu/library to search the catalog, do a keyword or subject
search on the
topic you need and look for the prefix of "VCR" for videos and "DVD" for DVD's.
What if I need a book that isn't in the library?
We will try to borrow it through the interlibrary loan service we have
with other libraries. Please allow 7-10 days
minimum
for the book to arrive. You can request a book through interlibrary loan
by calling
(760) 921-5513,
or call the front desk at (760) 921-5518 and ask for June. Unfortunately, we
cannot
borrow videos or any
audio-visual materials from other libraries.
Can I search for journal or periodical articles from home?
Of course! Connect to the library homepage
www.paloverde.edu/library and
click on the "Find an Article" link.
You will need the off-campus user ID and password however; call the library
during business hours to get them. To find a particular journal title
click on the "Find a particular, magazine, journal or newspaper" link and enter
the periodical title. If the journal issues are online, a list of databases will
appear. Choose one of the databases to access the journal online.

Library cards are free to all students. Stop by the library and

Overdue fines on books are 10 cents per day, on videos and DVD's

printer?
The library doesn't have a color copier at this time, but you can print in
color. Pages printed in color are 25 cents
per page.
Why doesn't the library carry recent best-sellers and lots of fiction?
A college library must support the curriculum of the classes the college
offers. The public library should
be able to meet your recreational reading needs.
